Monticello Wins Sweepstakes Award!
The
Marching Band swept house at the 84th Apple Blossom Festival. The
Marching Band appeared in the Firefighter's Parade Friday Evening and
received 1st Place Drum Major, 1st Place in Class C (65 or fewer winds)
and the Fire Chief's Award, which is First Place Overall Band in the
Parade. The Marching Mustangs then went on to participate in the Grand
Feature Parade Saturday afternoon and received 1st place Drum Major,
1st Place in Class C, and the Lion's Award, which is First Place
Overall Band in the Parade. Combining these awards with the Shenandoah
Cup the Wind Ensemble received on Friday, the Mustangs won the
Sweepstakes Award for Best Band in the Festival, making them a Festival
Honor Band.
Congratulations to all the students who put in hours of hard work to make this happen!

Monticello Wins Shenandoah Cup
The
Wind Ensemble placed first in Class A (Grade VI Music) and earned a
superior rating on Friday at Shenandoah University in the 84th Apple
Blossom Festival. The Marching Band will be appearing in the World's
Largest Firefighters' parade later this evening, and again tomorrow
during the Grand Feature Parade. |

for Bands for the 10th Annual Jefferson Classic is now up! It will held
on October 1st, 2011 at Monticello High School. The Registration Form
